What types of injuries might occur in an exercise program? i) Fractures ii) Contusions- bruises on skin, bone, muscle tissue iii) Sprains- 1 st degree, 2 nd degree, 3 rd degree iv) Strains- Separation of tearing of muscle fibers. v) Muscle soreness- Delayed onset muscle soreness- soreness followed by physical activity you are not used to. vi) Tendonitis-Inflammation of tendon vii)Bursitis- Fluid filled sacs that act as shock absorber in joints. Inflammation of on bursas. viii) Low Back Pain- Most common sports injury. (a) Preventing Low Back Pain Cause- imbalance between back muscles and ab muscles. Core muscles no strong enough and back muscles too tight. Prevention- strength training, flexibility training. IV. Treatment and Management of Injuries First aid management techniques are fairly simple and straightforward.
