MODULE 11. To whom are you responsible, as a driver?- As a driver, you are responsible for other drivers, your passangers, and yourself.2. For what are you responsible, as a driver?- You are responsible for the safety of others. 3. Who is financially responsible for a driver under 18?- Paying attention is one of the most important responsibilities of a good driver. 4. Name the 3 most common distractions for teens.- The three most common distractions for teens are cell phones, passangers, and even something as simple as adjusting the radio.5. How can these distractions be limited or avoided.- Turning off the cell phone or turning on the Do not disturb setting. Telling the passangers what they are doing wrong and to make them stop and to ask them to deal with the radio so you never have to take your eyes off the roadand your hands off the wheel.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------MODULE 21. Name the two types of vision your eyes provide and list the three basic rulesof good eye habits.- Central (Small, helps make important decisions) and peripheral (Not as sharp, sensitive to light and motion).2. Briefly describe color blindness and discuss how this condition affects drivers.-Color blindness is the inability to see certain colors in the usual way. This can affect how drivers see traffic lights, curbs and signs.3. What is carbon monoxide and what are the dangers associated with it?- A byproduct of combustion, when fuel isn't burning cleanly, DANGERS INCLUDE: Lightheadedness, confusion, headaches, dizziness and even death4. Why is attitude the most critical characteristic of a new driver?- A bad attitude can cause thw driver to become emotional and act on feelings and not facts5. Describe 3 characteristics of a safe driver. Which of these do you feel is most important and why?-Optimistic,considerate of others & emotionally stable I feel like being emotionally stable is the most important characteristic of a safe driver, because otherwise the driver would make irrational and dangerous decisions on the road.6. Describe 3 characteristics of 'at risk' behaviors.-poor judgement,being overconfident in their abilities, emotional outburst------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------MODULE 31. Gravity. How does gravity affect your car going downhill? Uphill?- Driving downhill gravity is pulling it down. Driving uphill gravity is slowing the car down2. Inertia. Name two safety features in cars that are designed to overcome the force of inertia when a car stops suddenly.-3. Friction/traction. Describe two conditions that affect the friction/traction.What happens to the handling of a car when there is a loss of friction/traction?
- Friction is affected by the brakes, tires,the road surface and speed. Traction is affected by stopping distance, centrifugal force, and hydroplaning. Decreasing a car's traction decreases the amount of control you have over the vehicle4. Centripetal and centrifugal force. How do these forces affect a vehicle in a turn?
