In the chapter “War makes you an animal” in the book Tribe by Sebastian Junger,
war war mentioned lots of times. It starts off with a boy whose life was affected by it. His
father was a one of the victims that had to flee his home due to war breaking out in
Europe. When he tried to sign up for the military he was shut down due to his asthma.
This was right after the Vietnam War and all adults were protesting it. One of the things
that the kid knew was that he didn’t want to fight in the war. His father had told him that
he owed his country something, even if that meant risking his life, since all the soldiers
before him had kept him safe. Then it talked about Sniper Alley which was a place
where many people were shot and killed by the Serbs. Then it later talked about the
Earthquake that hit Italy. Both the rich and poor were killed, and they both needed help,
