The most widely sought-after solution,Gun control, is seen as an attack on the amendment by pro-second amendment Americans, forReasons that are social, economic and political.The second amendmentThe second amendment is a sentence composed of the following twenty-seven words, "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."(Adams ET. Al., 2015). These twenty-seven words have been the source of heated debates across the United States for years, but recently, the debates are on the rise. Debates over gun rights have heated up recently due to several reasons. First, there is always a grim event that occurs to remind Americans that a problem still exists. As of March 2018, the twenty-third, there were already twenty-eight-gun shootings that have occurred in the United States. There is also the issue of President Donald Trump being in office, making Americans who are not part of his base feel as if the situation is not being improved due to his right-leaning policies.Gun control
Understanding pro-second amendment American3Gun control can be defined as legislating stricter gun laws, which will make it harder for Americans to acquire and keep the gun. There are many proposals that have been put forward on how this can be accomplished. One of them is the outlawing of bump stocks, devices that can be attached to a semi-automatic weapon making their firing rounds quicker like that of automatic weapons. This issue is one of the few that has gained bipartisan support not only in Congress but America at large. Improving gun background checks is yet another bipartisan proposal. Additionally, raising the legal age of gun ownership from eighteen to twenty-one has been proposed. Other proposals for gun control include the banning of semi-automatic weapons and banning AR-15 style weapons. Some Americans have even called for the repealing of the
