Name Natasha AldridgeCourse CWV-101Date 11/4/18Instructor David F.Benchmark - Gospel EssentialsThis essay will talk about the essentials of Gospel. It will be focused on the definition based on the Christian worldview of God, humanity, Jesus, restoration and analyzing the Christian worldview. The last paragraph will be about my reflection about the differences and similarities between the different Christian worldview.GodAs a Christian, people say God is magnificent, he is the king of king, Lord of Lords, and he is the great I am. He is the prince of peace, he is a way out of no way, and an all-knowing Godwho knows everything. I agree with this because it states all these things God is in the bible. Godcreated us in his own image. God gave us the Breath of Life and His endless love. Some of God’s characteristics are being an all-knowing God and a forgiving God. “God’s forgiveness always requires the sacrificial shedding of blood (Sang-Mong Lee, Hughes, G. T., & Viljoen, F. P. 2012).”Jesus Christ sacrificed his life to save humans from sin, that we may have the right to the tree of life. HumanityHuman nature is what makes us human. Chapter 4 states that, Christian worldview has two major assertions about human nature(Diffey, D. 2015). First, humans are createdin the image of God (Genesis 1:26-28). Second, after the fall of Adam and Eve into sin, 1
all humans are sinful by nature (Genesis 6:5; Romans 3:9-23).We are created in the image of God; however, after the fall we became sinful by nature. Because we are sinful by nature, humanity will behave in a sinful way. Different worldviews have different ideas about whether humans are good or sinful by nature. The Christian worldview says that humanity is sinful by nature and, therefore, will live and act in a sinful manner (Diffey, D. 2015).” We as humans have the root cause of sin which is the human problem.
