Outline: DNAIntroductionI.Attention-Getter:Making a Murderer has made waves on the internet, sparking debates and arguments over whether Steven Avery committed the murder of Teresa Halbach. What made this case interesting is the fact that Avery was falsely imprisoned for sexual assault and had been exonerated by DNA evidence. DNA evidence is also what helped convict him. This is what I will be speaking about today; the history of DNA and forensicevidence.II.Establishment of credibility: While I may not be a forensic pathologist or a prosecutor, Ihave been learning about forensics and DNA evidence since I was in 4thgrade. I was lucky enough to take a forensics class during this time and sparked my interest in the study of forensics and how it can exonerate or convict someone.III.Thesis Statement: DNA evidence is a powerful tool in the world of investigating, whether it be from a potential murderer to a simple robber.
