To; Hospital Administration12May2019From; Isseline Natal (HIM Director) As the Health Information Management Director of this clinic, I would like to propose an incentive program that allows our transcriptionist to work from home. We currently have 21 transcriptionist who average about 140 lines per hour using conventional word processing software and cassette tapes. The transcription unit currently supports 80 physicians at a cost pf 15 cents per line. After doing extensive research and collecting data from other departments, I decided to pursue abbreviation software, templates, and a digital dictation system, after presenting the idea to administration, the idea was accepted and the necessary funding was obtained. As I have implemented each of these processes, the productivity of the transcription unit has continued to increase. I have provided monthly progress reports and an annual cost-benefit analysis to the administration.
