The most controversial aspect of stem cell research is the use human embryonic stem cells. The conflict over embryonic stem cells substantially deals with the ethical implications (Springer2008). In other words, tampering or manipulating human life in its early stages of development by conducting lab experiments. Religious leaders who oppose believe that stem cells raise moral issues such as abortion. They believe that scientists have other ways to reach their goals by utiliz-ing adult stem cells (Pew Research Religion & Public Life Project, 2008). There are also several underlying facts about embryonic stem cells verses adult stem cells. Unlike adult stem cells em-bryonic stem cells are easier to grow and have the ability to develop into the two-hundred and twenty cell types in the human body. Unfortunately, this will continue to be a controversial sub-ject because scientists and individuals who are religious share different views.
