While reading part two of The Circle of Hanh by Bruce Weigl , I noticed that there is one particular thing that connects to Bruce Weigl poem What Saves Us. Bruce goes into great detail about his sexual experiences. One of his sexual experiences was Lady Chatterley's Lover; a novel by D.H. Lawrence. While his parents were gone, Bruce used to sneak into their room and read Lady Chatterley’s Lover in the bathroom. Although the cover of the book was very appealing, Bruce could not find the erotic parts he was looking for. That all changed one day when Bruce said “I found a place in the story where a man and a women were naked in the mud. He was inside of her. They both said the word fuck. They said it in a way I’d never heard before. They said it without anger and somehow lovingly, I thought”. Bruce liked the book so much that he used to pleasure himself in the bathroom as he read it.
