Discussion 1 Week 1 Self-concept, self-image, and self-esteem are all ways you see yourself and how others perceive you. Self- concept is how you and others around you view you, and the labels you place on yourself. It is a description or how you portray yourself (Bevan & Sole, 2014). Self-image is developed over time if you were laughed at for something you have said or done you may end up with a negative self-image of yourself concerning that part of your life experience (Bevan & Sole, 2014). Self-esteem is a broader sense of yourself; it is how you judge and evaluate yourself. If you have a high sense of self, you can have high self-esteem, and if you have a low sense of self you can have low self-esteem (Bevan & Sole, 2014). All three images of your self can relate to how we communicate with others our interpersonal and intrapersonal communication can be affected on how we communicate to others and ourselves.
