When cancer is in or on the penis it is called penile cancer. There are different types of cancer of the penis, knowing which one will help you determine which action if any you take. Each cancer has different symptoms. While some have warts others may have patches of skin. Signs and symptoms of penile cancer include redness of the penis, rash, and pain in the penis. Foul smelling discharge coming from penis may happen. Bleeding foreskin or from the penis when pulled back may also happen. Color change of penis or a growth/ sore on the penis that doesn’t heal within 4 weeks. Testing is done by the physician by inspecting the genital area for signs. Physician may also inspect the lymph nodes around the groin for swolleness. Doctor may suggest more test if needed. A biopsy may be done as well, and is the surest way to know. Although surgery is the mainly used treatment, radiation can also be used. When radiation is used it can be used by itself or with surgery. Treatment is based on stages. If it can’t be cured
