Chas PhillipsTeam TwoAcquired Needs Theory-Application of the theory in regards to the multicultural workforce.Malone (2018) explains the Acquired Needs Theory as a function of three parts: achievement,power and affiliation. Due to the rapid evolution of people as they transition from children to adults, they develop these unique needs. Enterprises meet these needs by providing the platform to earn workplace accolades, such as the opportunity for advancement or the lead in advanced complex issues. Employees, facilitate an environment that reduces the level of stress that may become prevalent and foster an environment conducive to team oriented activities. A. Achievement: Employees with characteristics that constitute high achievement require the ability to take responsibility of problem solving domains and the platform to take action on these items. Due to their focused and realistic nature, they set goals that challenge the core of their beliefs and intelligence, but remain achievable. They require rapid feedback and constant affirmation of a positive nature in order to produce the most effective versions of work performance. Employersmust provide streamlined and visible goals that are challenging and laudable. In addition, there must be visible praise at each interval that these unique goals are reached, such as employee of the month, promotion, salary increases, bonuses, etc.…B. Power: Employeeswith Power needs have the ability to successfully organize their employees towards company goals. They constantly strive to be at the head at every function and
organizational event provided, as aligns with their need to be in charge and influence others. They revel in competition and are most comfortable in prestigious positions. Employersmust understand this need and use it in a way that affects positive influence in the organization. Rallying these types of employees towards unique goals with the promise of increased leadershipand visibility will be the most effective method. They require the ability to control a lot and can be an asset in the influence of others arena, if utilized correctly.C. Affiliation: Employeesthat seek affiliation in the workplace require closeness and interaction with others. They are best working in groups that provide high levels of cooperation with minimal levels of competition. They are the peer that is always asking about their fellow
