This was a study on a layout design problem attempting to be solved by using an approach with an influence on environmental and safety factors. The article presented an computer simulation-stochastic analysis to correct the problem with the job shop facility layout design. This article provided unique insight on the ability of dealing with multiple inputs such as safety, and stochastic outputs such as environmental. This article enabled me to explore my header of environmental factors on job designs. It provided an in-depth look at a layout design problem being corrected by researching the environmental factors that influenced it. Many of theways we are able to learn from environmental factors is due to technology. Bayat, H. & Dadashzadeh, M. (2016). Organizational success factors of lean manufacturing: research review. International Journal of Business, Marketing & Decision Science, 9(1), 1-18. This was a research review on organizational factors and implementation outcomes of lean manufacturing. In addition the study also provides a more in-depth look at organizational factors by breaking it into three dimensions: organizational climate, organizational structure, and job design. This provided me with a deeper insight into organizational factors impact on job design. The study of critical success factors that can have an impact on job design is an importantpart of my research. Technology has been a huge part of developing successful job designs and implementation, and we must research all factors.

Williams 2Chan, T. H., Mihm. J., Sosa,M. (2018). Revisiting the role of collaboration in creating breakthrough inventions. INSEAD Working Papers Collection, 9,1-30. This was an empirical study that used utility and design paten data from 1985-2009 to compare the effect on the likelihood of creating breakthrough invention when working alone versus working with a team. The study found there was not a disadvantage to working alone when designing patents or innovation of products. On the other hand the study found that when working on utility patents working on a team was more productive than working alone. This study provided a better insight on innovation, individual team work vs team work, and technology. It helped to further understand the importance of innovation in job designs. De Spiegelare, S., Van Gyes, G., De Witte, H., Van Hootegem, G. (2015). Job design, work engagement and innovative work behavior: A multi-level study on Karasek’s learning hypothesis. Management Revue, 26(2), 123-137. This was a study that was further look into the Karasek model which suggests that employees that work in fields that are under high time pressure and high autonomy are more engaged and innovative.
