BOMBING OF MURRAY FEDERAL BUILDING 2 Murray Federal Building Bombing Case Study What suspicious activities that preceded the event did the attackers display that could have tipped off the authorities to their intentions? McVeigh was apparently a psycho and he did not warrant to serve in the United States Army. If people were watchful as they are today, McVeigh’s doubtful actions, and conducts would have been detected, either by the authorities or the public. He displayed many suspicious behaviors and actions before the bombing of the federal building. In the army, McVeigh was gunner since he ran an infantry aid weapon and he was awarded medals as well as decorations for his tenure and actions in the US army. Nevertheless, he hated the US administration so much that he talked about defeating and conquering it ( Waugh, 2018). McVeigh started to display his detestation when he handed out white supremacist pamphlets. He talked about stealing weapons from the army base. McVeigh bought and sold data as well as books about “being a survivor” in many gun exhibitions. He disclosed anti-government writings at the Waco TX website, an occurrence that revealed people that were assassinated by the US administration. At one point, McVeigh told his friends that he was so fed up and tired that spreading of anti-government information would not continue. Here, he informed his friends that a moment of revolution had come. He stated, “it was time to take action, and the action he wanted to take was something dramatic, something that would shake up America”. Given that McVeigh selected the target that he did what message should this send for future law enforcement-force protection operations? In this scenario, the appropriate message that would be sent concerns been aware and vigilant of future uncertainties. At the federal building, there was adequate security. There are various lessons that should be learned from this occurrences. There are persons who are lurk in the shade and they walk and interact with people regularly. Such people do not express the anger in them and they never display their dislikes. They are anti-government since they disagree with legislation and law enactment agencies. McVeigh was upset and disturbed by many occurrences about law enforcement and the US government. The bombing of the federal building was to send a clear and loud message to the government and the people.
