Taylor Elyea Sustainable Environments Assignment 7: Geoengineering 5 December 2018 Assignment 7: Geoengineering Geoengineering , the topic of David Keith’s TED Talk, “A critical look at geoengineering against climate change” can be described as the intentional large-scale manipulation of an environmental process that alters Earth’s climate, which in turn would be used to counteract the effects of global warming. Keith described an example of geoengineering as putting particles such as sulfuric acid, sulfates, into the upper atmosphere where they would reflect away sunlight and cool the planet. A potential method to achieving longer atmospheric outlines involves moving things out of the stratosphere into the mesosphere, which he explains, in principle, solves the ozone problem. He also suggests that we could make the particles migrate to over the poles so we could arrange the climate engineering so it would focus on those areas. This would have

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
