Unformatted text preview: John Keats Biography & Works Basic Biography ● Keats was born on October 31, 1795 in London, England. ● His parents were Thomas and Frances Keats and was the oldest of four children. ● His father died when Keats was only eight causing a problem in his family’s financial security. ● His mother quickly remarried. ● When her second marriage fell apart, she left Keats and his siblings with her mother. Basic Biography ● His mother later returned but soon died of tuberculosis in 1810. ● He went on a walking tour of Northern England adn Scotland in 1818 which led to the first symptoms of tuberculosis. ● Keats died on February 23, 1821 from tuberculosis in Rome, Italy. Information about Keats work ● Whole literary career consisted in a matter of three and a half years. ● Wrote 150 poems in just nine months. ● Published 3 books in his lifetime. ● Most of his works were written in dedication to his brothers.
