He gives us the new laws based on the oldones, but made for love and joy. The two greatest commandments are love God and to loveyour neighbors. The closer you love God and your neighbors, the happier you will be. ChristianFaith is to be centered around Jesus and his teachings. Jesus’ teachings are understandableand unforgettable. The sermons Jesus gave us are not rules or regulations, rather they aredescriptions for people who say yes to God. Jesus is telling us the laws for joy. The freedom wehave, we should give it to God.Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of GodIf we try to make ourselves happy by attaching ourselves to wealth, power, or someother secular brief pleasure, we can become addicted to them and develop a false necessity forthese things. Whereas if we just were happy in God, we would not need these things and wouldbe detached from them and really be attached to God as we should be. This doesn't meanmaterialistic things are bad, just we should not obsess over them. We should not rely onmaterial things, or should we make it our ultimate concern.
