Myanmar is the 40th 1 largest country of the world. It has a fairly big land area to cultivate and mineral resources that can well be utilized for the population. The population is 82.53 2 per square km. Which is 26 th in the rank of population density of the world. This statistics displays a fairly manageable proportion between lands versus density of population. But, the subsequent statistics will raise the eye brows of all recognizant reader: a. Myanmar ranks 208/227 3 in GDP per capita of the world. b. Foreign Exchange reserve ranks 93/156 4 . c. Total number of troops 24/172 5 . d. Number of active troops in per 1000 is 22/172 6 . e. Global peace index 132/149 7 . f. Global Press freedom index 193/195 8 . g. Education index 178/182 9 . h. Failed State Index 16/37 10 . The list goes on. Most of the index places Myanmar almost at the bottom of the list. 2. The very geographical location of Myanmar has significant importance over the ASEAN and SAARC countries. The Connection with Indian sea via Andaman at south, China at the north, India at west, Laos at East and Thailand at its South East has made it a hub for future strategic geo politics. Amongst some other peculiarities, Myanmar is the 3 rd in the world in the scale of density of Buddhist. population. There are few Muslim Majority countries within this region while Bangladesh, being another close neighbor of Myanmar has Islam as state religion 11 . In the other hand India is a Hindu majority country while Hinduism is the state religion of Nepal. There are few deep-rooted reason behind mentioning the state religions of the neighbor of Myanmar. Details will be discussed at the later stage of this research proposal. 3. Myanmar is a country with multi ethnicity. Though most of the populations of Myanmar are Buddhist but there are ethnic divisions within the Buddhist populace. There are Shin, Kachin, Karen and Burman, who are ethnically divided, living in a same geographically bounded area. On top of these ethnically separate populations, Rohingyas are ethnically and religiously divided. 4. In the present world, a problem which is related to dissatisfaction on government over ethnicity or religion issue of a country cannot be constrained within its geographical boundary. It surely will have a spillover effect within its neighboring states and region. Myanmar is facing insurgency movements since its foundation in 1948 12 . During that time, the insurgency was limited to the north western provinces only. Their primary demand was to get the right to
