NATIVE AMERICANS Native American Figure American’s history has not been that neat and tidy. Perspectives and thoughts of all indigenous people who lived during the 15 th and 18 th centuries are surviving I written forms and less than it is optimal to the historians. This is because some of this documents are much rare and, therefore, those who have had interests in the Native American past find out the information using different traditional, archeology, folklore, folk literature, arts as well as other resources. The Native American history is extremely difficult and complex due to the influence of the diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds of the individuals involved. It was during the 15 th to 18 th centuries when white settlers arrived in America, it was a big problem for them. Contrary to their expectations, they come to realize that this land already had been occupied by other people (the Native Americans) who had settled and started living there. On the other hand, it was a burden to the Native Americans and they tried all tactics in order to deal with the Europeans (white settlers). They tried to live harmoniously by talking to them, signing treaties to share the land but unfortunately, the U.S. government had a knack to them and went back to its words. This was because most of the settlers were afraid as the whites seemed to be primitive people[ CITATION Fra07 \l 1033 ]. However, this did not last for long and thus a war started as the settlers build desires to claim the land to be theirs. They went on and destroyed everything which was owned by the Native people. Nevertheless, various mistakes in this era have been identified and admitted as well as reparations have been made. In addition, history has not forgotten those major Native American figures that fought and did everything to protect their culture and people. William “Red Eagle” Weatherford is one of them. Red Eagle was a major Native American Figure in its history. It was believed that he was born in the current province which is known as Alabama in a rich family that comprised of his
NATIVE AMERICANS dad, a Scottish merchant, and his mom, a Creek Indian which was blended with good legacy[ CITATION Car161 \l 1033 ]. Their tribe was the Creek. Due to this blended genealogy, he was just a single eighth Creek Indian. In the Creek, the country drop was dictated by his mother and his white dad was of no worry to alternate Creeks.
