Isolation can be shown by two of the character in Frankenstein : Frankenstein and his monster. Frankenstein and his monster both show isolation in Frankenstein by their actions and thoughts. Isolation can lead to insanity, revenge, and regret. Isolation can cause insanity to a human. This is shown in Frankenstein when Victor Frankenstein goes to school and does not reply to his father. Frankenstein starts to think of all these ideas, and makes himself work to finish his experiment. “I know well therefore what would be my father’s feeling, but I could not tear my thoughts from my employment, loathsome in itself, but which had taken an irresistible hold of my imagination.” (54) This quote shows isolation can cause insanity by the way it affects Frankenstein.
