Accessing good health care, service usage, and patient outcomes can be both medically
and non-medically complicated. People are different; they have different complex problems such
as mental problems, lack of housing, or even substance abuse. This issue brief is about medical
and social needs of the beneficiaries of Medicaid.
Medicaid refers to a program concerned with health care that deals with offering
assistance to families or people with low-income which cannot cater for their healthcare visits,
stays in hospitals and other medical related costs, and is established in the Government of United
States . It aims at offering support through taking care of people who have nothing to enable them
get the required health services. Eligibility for differs from state to another, but is normally
limited to children with low income, women, adults and individuals who have disabilities.
