Written soviet The United States would like to promote relations and become allies to Third World countries. The United States understands we have domestic issues concerning our minority population, in which we have been rectifying over the years. We have passed several Amendments, legislation and policies, such as the New Deal by Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Great Society by Lyndon B. Johnson. These policies were put in place to promote the health and welfare of our people, and the efforts to ease the tension of the Cold War. The subjects I will reflect upon will include the New Deal, the Great Society and Nixon’s treaties to acquire peace. The New Deal proposed by FDR was a god sent to the Americans population. The New Deal provided relief programs to the poor and hungry. It did not discriminate against race. It provided many federal projects which provided jobs to those that were unemployed from the Great Depression. In 1935, the social security act was established. This provided pensions for those of old age, economic aid, unemployment insurance based on income or means It is also, to assist dependent children. During this time the Fair Labor Standard Act was passed in 1938, this increased the minimum wage, made the workplace safer and more sanitary. 1 It also, restricted the age as to which a child may work. The New Deal legislature gave Americans hope. Americans now knew they had an active government to assist them in meeting their basic needs. This is something they had never experienced. Roosevelt also believe that all Americans should not be denied access to the polls and should have equal access to the market place. The New Deal was
