Literature reviewIn the literature review the Behavioral Therapy Model will be discussed, the learning process of Operant Conditioning, identification of criminogenic need risk/need assessment and the positive outcomes of treatment ultimately reducing recidivism in adult female offenders.This task group is a Social Skills treatment group chosen to implement the Behavioral Therapy Model. This model is based on the learning theory. The learning theory was founded by several fundamental philosophical theorist which contributed to the learning theory. (pg.496)●Behavioral Therapy Model suggests that maladaptive behavior is obtained through learning, so a person can also alter these unwanted behaviors by further learning experiences. (pg.496, book)●Operant Conditioning is one of three learning processes in Behavioral Therapy Groups. In our social skills treatment group, we will focus of operant conditioning in or to teach the adult female offenders’ pro-socialskills. Learning theory is human behavior that is comprised of both positive and negative behavior. In operant conditioning the positive behavior is reinforced, emphasized, praised and rewarded. Negative behavior is addressed in order to provide structuralized teaching opportunities to learn and change anti-social behavior. (pg.497)
