Krystal Coffee Bio 111-08 Professor Rogers Photosynthesis Lab Introduction: In this lab we exercised photosynthetic activity of different wavelengths of light.
You will determine if products of photosynthesis are present in leaf tissue that has been exposed to different wavelength of light and identify wavelength in each pigment. The process of photosynthesis is by which green plants use sunlight by absorption, to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide plus water. In plants the green, chlorophyll generates oxygen as a byproduct. Materials: Chromatography paper Beaker Test Tube Acetone Capillary tube Spinach solute Timer pencil Lab coat Lab manual Methods: We began the lab by taking a small rectangular piece of paper and write a straight line 1 cm from the bottom of the paper, in pencil. Using the capillary tube, dipping one end into the beaker with the prepared spinach solution trapping the solution inside the tube. Dotting the middle of the draw line twice applied the spinach solvent
