Houston Ostlund Discussion Questions 11/13/07 1) If I were to participate in this experiment, I think I would be able to administer the shocks for quite a while. I would know that the test is in fact an experiment, and I would trust the psychologists who are doing the test. It may get difficult as the people start to show pain, and my conscious started to come into play, but overall, I think I would be able to handle it and administer all of the shocks. 2) The characteristics of the subjects tested in this experiment contribute to both high and low rates of obedience. The subjects tested who wanted to make society better, or do the experiment in order to yield results, who fight through any inhibitions, and proceed to the end of the experiment. There are also those people out there that would enjoy giving the shocks to people. As sick as it sounds, those type of people exist more than we even know. On the flipside, the characteristics of some subjects would make them not want to complete the experiment. There are many people who either physically can not stand to
