Log in to your newly created AWS account and take a screenshot of the AWS Management Console (Dashboard) and embed it below. The screenshot should include the username you created during setup. 2. Launch a Windows Virtual Machine (VM). Provide a detailed overview of the steps required to install the Microsoft Windows operating system on the VM. The steps may be listed in bullet points or complete sentences. Use as much space as required. Find “Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Base” and click Select. “t2.micro” note: this is a free tier, so stay on this one. Then click Review and Launch at the bottom of the page. Leave the default settings and click ‘Launch’ at the bottom. In the popup window, select ‘Create a new key pair’ and chose a name for it. Then click ‘Download Key Pair’. A .pem file will be downloaded to your computer with the name you chose. Make sure to save this key pair in an accessible folder on your computer. Click ‘Launch Instance’ to start Windows Server instance. Upon completion of this assignment, export your file as a PDF and upload to the LEO/Assignments folder.

After launching the instance, you will need to retrieve an admin password and connect to it using a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client. In order to connect to your Windows virtual machine instance, you will need a user name and password: o User name defaults to “Administrator” o To receive your password, click ‘Get Password’ Locate the Key Pair you created by Click Choose File and browse to the file where you stored (X).pem. Your Key Pair will appear in the text box, then click ‘Decrypt Password’. You now have a decrypted password for your Windows Server instance. Do not forget your Windows Server admin login credentials (username and decrypted password, make sure you save it somewhere. Click ‘Download Remote Desktop File’ and open the file. When prompted log in to the instance, use the Username and Password you generated to connect to your virtual machine. 3. Using AWS, create a network file system with Amazon Elastic File Systems (EFS). Use the AWS Use Cases web page for step-by-step instructions. Take a screenshot of the result and embed it below.
