Immigration Policy McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, or Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), Pub.L. 82–414, 66 Stat. 163 was established on June 27, 1952; the basic architecture of immigration law by establishing a system for (i) immigration; (ii) criteria for exclusion, and; (iii) procedures for deportation and is the core immigration law. INA has been recurrently amended since its inception. Additionally, INA is codified at Title 8 of the United States Code. When it comes to immigration law(s), Congress, U.S. Legislative Branch, has sole authority to modify immigration laws by the Constitution. President Transition & Administrative Agency Presidential transitions often mean more than changes in White House personnel; U.S. Presidents often modify policies that are not bipartisan friendly or favored. Congress enacted the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) in the Immigration Act of 1990; Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a temporary immigration status provided to nationals of certain countries experiencing problems
