How will you address a possible dual-role relationship?As the NASW Code of Ethics states, social workers should not engage in a dual or multiple relationship with client’s or former clients in which there is a risk of exploitation or potential harm to the client (NASW, 2017). There are situations where in rural areas, there will be practictioners where dual relationsihps are common. The practictioner must consider having appropriate boundaries when it comes to a dual relationship (Daley & Hickman, 2011). In the case of the 15-year-old boy who is requesting a same-day appointment, it would be necessary for the social worker to see the client rather than having the client, who is only 15, try to find transportation to additional service 30 miles away. The way I would address this situation would be to gather all the information needed from the 15-year old boy. I would also ask if the boy would like one of his parents to attend his meeting. However, after a mild discussion, I would need parental/legal guardian consent due to the child being a minor. Therefore, I would be willing to have
