Demin (2015) states “ in these rites of passage, the concerns and priorities of the inhabitants of ones; place must be taken into account and properly addressed.” (Demin, 2015, p. 261)
JAPANESE RELIGION In the Japanese religion, those in the society go thru milestones in life These milestones are thought to not only reaffirm one, but to develop a connection with the community, ancestors deities, and the unborn.
BIRTH AND INFANT STAGES JAPANESE RELIGION • THE INFANT IS TAKEN TO LOCAL SHINTO SHRINE TO CONDUCT RITUAL FOR THE KAMI’S PROTECTION • GIRLS AGES 3 OR 7 AND BOYS AGES 5 VISIT SHRINE AGAIN TO REEMPHASIZE THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO KAMI • PARENTS DRESS CHILDREN IN FORMAL CLOTHING OCEANIA RELIGION • SONGS ARE SUNG DURING THE CHILD BIRTHING PROCESS • FOOD TABOO IS OBSERVED BY
