Hello my name is Michael Joshua chief administrator of the Corporation of Public Broadcasting or CPB, established on November 7, 1967 by the Public Broadcasting act signed by Lyndon B. Johnson. And I am here to persuade the House of Representatives to continue funding this agency. First a little bit of history. The CPB was founded on November 7, 1967 by the Public Broadcasting act. It was created during a period of intense scrutiny and criticism of television. This agency was formed because television, watch expansions, and development of public communications. In support diverse programs and services that inform, educate, enlighten and enrich the public. Some accomplishments made by the CPB helped fund Print Handicapped Project which allows NPR to fund a pilot program to provide newspaper reading and other services to those with visual impairments. With CPB funding, NPR makes radio reading services much more widely available. Another accomplishment is when the first satellite television interconnection in the
