COMMON ERRORS OF PERSONAL INQUIRY 2 Personal Inquiry Personal inquiry involves gaining acquaintance from many facets of life. A person explores his or her environment. People derive their knowledge through tradition and the authority surrounding them. Through tradition, each person has his or her own culture and tradition which he or she gains the knowledge from (Maxfield, 2015). Individuals are the heirs to their ancestors’ knowledge. With regards to the authority aspect, individuals get new insights as they live their lifes. People get to meet erudite and experienced people who share with them firsthand information. Consequently, they end up believing these people. There are faults which occur in the course of personal inquiry like inaccurate or incorrect observation, Illogical reasoning, Selective observation, and overgeneralization.
