Contract No. HY/2007/09 Particular Specification Reconstruction and Improvement of Section 2 – Site Clearance Tuen Mun Road – Eastern Section SECTION 2 SITE CLEARANCE GENERAL The following is added after G.S. Clause 2.03 :- General site clearance 2.03A (1) The Contractor shall demolish, break up and remove walls, fences and superficial obstructions down to ground level in the way of or otherwise affected by the Works. He shall clear each part of the Site at the times and to the extent required or directed by the Engineer. (2) The Contractor shall identify and report to the Engineer the presence of hazardous materials on Site. If the Contractor encounters any hazardous materials including asbestos during the site clearance, he shall employ, at his own cost, Specialist Contractor to the approval of Engineer and other relevant Government departments to dispose of the hazardous materials. The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer and other relevant Government departments method of disposal, location for disposal etc. for the Engineer’s approval. The Contractor shall seek agreement with Environmental Protection Department the location of disposing the hazardous material and shall keep the Engineer’s Representative informed of such agreement. SITE CLEARANCE G.S. Clause 2.04 (3) is deleted and replaced by :- Demolition 2.04 (3) Particulars of the proposed methods of carrying out demolition work, handling and sorting of recyclable materials and disposal of construction of demolition waste shall be submitted to the Engineer and relevant authorities for approval at least 28 days before the demolition starts. The following is added after G.S. Clause 2.04(3) :- (4) Where the Contractor is required to demolish buildings and structures, he shall demolish down to existing ground level of the buildings and structures.
