Claire White Questions for Naturalistic Observation 1. Where did you observe? a. Observation #1: Holiday Inn Lobby (off Broad St.); Wednesday from 5:45-6:10 b. Observation #2: Brumby Lobby; Wednesday from 8:30-8:50 2. Which place had you not been before? Did you like it? Why or why not? a. I had never been to the Holiday Inn before, and for a hotel lobby, I’d say it’s not to shabby. But personally, hotel lobbies are not necessarily my favorite place to “hang.” But it was definitely a welcoming and clean environment. 3. What are three DIFFERENCES you noticed between the people at the first and second place? a. At the hotel, the people seemed to be a little more respectful. Not only for the furniture (sitting in the chairs correctly), but also for the other people, and spoke in softer more conversational voices. Whereas those in Brumby were slack and talked in a louder tone. b. At the hotel, most people were by themselves or with one other person. Whereas at Brumby, many of the girls were in groups of three to eight. The girls at Brumby
