3 CASE STUDIES ANALYSIS Summary From the starting of whole foods since 1980, its market has been a forerunner in organic and natural food industry. Throughout 20 th century whole foods has been experiencing success and growth with the support of American’s rising interest in healthy and alternative products. Whole foods own approximately 95% of 462 retail stores in USA and the main branch situated at Austin, Texas. The CEO of whole foods John Mackey pursued to offering best quality natural and organic foods available in the market.[ CITATION Val16 \l 1033 ] The objective of Mackey to offer healthy foods in the market was to help people live healthier and longer life. The case study we are provided is about the team types that are used in Whole foods organization. As teams are taken very much seriously in this organization; team members are provided with freedom of making their own decisions. Every team has authority of hiring, firing, motivating and promoting their teammates and if any of the members have bad performance it results in hurting team performance and bonus. Question no. 1 As whole foods take teams and teamwork seriously where they have teams working for different sectors; grocery, seafood, bakery, preserved foods, vegetables and fruits the type of team that best describe its label is Management team and work team. The teams in whole foods have independence of what to do for the organization, decisions are made by the team itself, how the price can be taken to improve profits, analyzing every work and promoting good work.
