Name: Kim Jalm Date: June 5, 2006 Class: PHI-1103 11-12:30 Word Count: 1240 Paper Number: 2 Title: Iraq War 1. Introduction and Thesis The Iraq War may seem like a good idea to some, but to most, it looks like it is turning out to be a very bad idea. This war went against the UN Charter, because we knew we would not achieve enough votes to go to war. This war has sparked the increasing of terrorism, in my opinion. We are also sending our troops over to Iraq for no real purpose. Our money going towards the war should be used for other purposes, not the killings of our own people. This paper argues that going to war was wrong. 2. Argument and Explanation Reason 1: The war is costing us billions of dollars that could be going towards better things. This war is costing at least $300 billion, and at least $7 billion a month. This money could easily go towards incorporating college funds such as the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. I am sure more states would accept these government funded scholarships if given the money. By going to war, the government cut some educational benefits in order to give the money to the military and the rich people who are making our weapons for us. The money could also go towards funding for social security benefits. Many people are dependent on social security Reason 2: The war is causing an increase in terrorism all around the globe. The United States is even going against international law by going into Iraq in the first place. There have been more incidents of people going into town strapped with bombs now than there were before the war. There is more bombing of buildings and more unnecessary killings that were brought on by the war. The war is increasing fear in American’s also.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
