In spite of all the resources dedicated to interdiction efforts on the border, questions about their success have been raised for the past couple of decades. In 1989, a General Accounting Office report to the Senate argued that interdiction had failed, with seizures having little impact on the drug epidemic. In a 1990’s Senate subcommittee hearing on drug interdiction at our border, it was noted that interdiction has not had and unlikely to have a substantial effect on the national goal of reducing drug shipments to the United States. Despite recent efforts to build up the border, some estimations claim that roughly 10 percent of illegal drugs are seized at U.S. ports of entry, with the rest making it through into the United States. As our author stated concerning organizing an international drug task force to combat the flow of illegal drugs is an excellent idea. I’m not exactly sold on the idea that they are utilized under the United Nations.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
