Things to remember for Bank ReconWith each transaction ask yourself: What account was affected first? Their bank account (bank statement) or their general ledger account (cash book)? What was initially debited or credited for the transaction? Where would it need to be adjusted now? The cash book or the bank recon? Is it now a debit or credit? (opposite of the second question) Steps when adjusting the cash book:
