Identify the
research problem
The goal of this study was to examine the readiness of nurses from rural
areas within Texas and conduct their in-depth examination. A precise report
of the influences is used as the basis for coming adversity development.
Identify the research
purpose
In the recent year, there is increase in man-made and natural disasters.
In the US, most of the nurses have no preparations to deal with this sudden
crisis.
Few studies had analyzed the training of nurses and mediation factors.
The present research was intended to support in the identification of the
current state of disaster nurses for helping the community.
Summarize the
literature review
During the natural disaster the nursing demand increases in respect to other
healthcare professionals.
Training nurses is crucial to moderate the undesirable impact of natural
disasters on society, persons, and properties of individual.
There are large number of nurses who are unable to cope with this
emergency situation due to increase age, lack of planning and education, and
having weak perception towards dealing with natural disasters.
Disaster education in these parts is inadequate, and nurse’s participation in
natural disaster associated research is limited.
Due to the geographic isolation, nurses within rural region came across
different circumstances, delayed treatment initiation, as well as lack of
progressive education.
The budget of rural hospitals is quite limited; therefore, these organizations
cannot afford higher education and nursing training to cope with natural
disasters.
Identify the framework
or theoretical
perspective
Based on the theoretical basis the self-determination theory (SDT)
follows the perception of the body to express that optimistic individuals
need to encounter the barriers of achieving individual progress and
development.
This research highlighted 4 primary factors, which identifies the actions of
nurses in preparing for disasters during personal progress and development:
personal behavior, personal issues, professed skills, and the health
environment.
