PROJECT SUMMARY2Module 8 Project SummaryMy project is on Parkinson’s disease. My introduction explains what Parkinson’s disease is and the prevalence. Parkinson’s disease is a common neurodegenerative disorder that causes progressive motor and nonmotor disability (Homayoun, 2018). This disease has a significant clinical impact on patients, families, and caregivers through its progressive degenerative effects on mobility and muscle control (DeMaagd & Philip, 2015).Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer’s disease. The prevalence of Parkinson’s disease increases with age such that 1% of persons older than 65 years and 3% of those older than 80 years are affected (Homayoun, 2018).
