THE LEADER IN MEAbstractThis paper presents the self-evaluation of the leadership quality in me as we learnt in this session through multiple sources such as lecture sessions, text-books, various classroom discussions and activities, and different LIRN journals. This paper tries to co-relate the organizational climate, and my leadership effectiveness as well. Finally, it assess the ability ofme being a team player, ethics, facilitating empowerment, and handling conflicts and diversity within an organization.2

THE LEADER IN MEBackgroundI still remember the blind-folding activity which Prateek sir coordinated in the terrace of our college. The rules were pretty simple. We were divided into two teams, and aligned in two straight lines. Each team player would blindfold the corresponding team-player right in front of them, which meant only the person at the extreme end was allowed to see. The objective was to find the marker placed somewhere in the ground when the only leader (the person at the extreme end) was able to see needed to direct the whole team without making any sound. The first round was difficult and none of the team could succeed but both the teamended up colliding with each other. Me, being the one to guide, I instructed each one of my team members with a certain guideline in such a way that made everyone feel equally responsible and important. Hence, I managed conflict and diversity and gave everyone a equal chance, and our efforts led to victory. The takeaway of this activity was pretty much “united we stand, divided we fall”. This takeaway empowered me with my leadership abilities and confidence, whereas me being to empower my team members boosted their confidence and could perform well to ensure our success.Spider-Man is one of my favorite movie, and one of the dialogue in the movie that forever struck with me was by Uncle Ben, a fictional character in the movie who tells the protagonist that, “with great power comes great responsibility”, just a few moments before his death. Indeed, leadership grants a person with power, and the authority to control. However, it is also equally important that he/she uses those power and authority in a responsible manner. According to Manning and Curtis (2015), a good leader inherits the following qualities:a)Visionb)Ability3
