DQ1 Arithmetic’s is a branch of Mathematics that deals with the manipulation and representation of the numeric values. The part that lies within the arithmetic is polynomial which is described as an expression containing constants, variables and exponents [ CITATION Dog12 \l 1033 ] , which can be altered using Addition, Subtraction, Division and multiplication. Parentheses are also included to group the arithmetic expressions, the examples of parentheses used are ‘{}’, ‘[]’, ‘()’. These parentheses helps us to indicate the expressions that are needed to be altered according to the questions. We have been taught about the rules that needs to be strictly followed while solving an arithmetic question. Both these rules are similar to each other and easy to keep in mind. The rules are: B.O.D.M.A.S and P.E.M.D.A.S B.O.D.M.A.S B = bracket O = Order of power D = Divide M = Multiply A = Addition S = Subtraction P.E.M.D.A.S P = Parentheses E = Exponent M = Multiply D = Divide A = Addition S = Subtraction

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
