Study Guide: Exam 1 POLI 150 001 Spring 2008 For Short Answer Section: The short answers will draw from the list below. Each question will ask you to define and illustrate or define and discuss the theoretical significance of one of these terms. This means that if the question focuses on an historical event, I also expect you to discuss a (or the) theoretical concept that it illustrates. If the question focuses on a theoretical concept, I also expect you to illustrate the concept with an appropriate historical illustration (which may but need not come from the list below). For example: Question: Define and explain significance of the “Classical Balance of Power.” Answer: The Classical Balance of Power is blah, blah, blah . This concept influenced government actions in the Congress of Vienna where blah, blah, blah . (or you could talk about how the impact of Wilson’s dislike for this concept on the Versailles Treaty).
