Discussion Question 1: JD Case StudyThe additional subjective or objective information that I would need from JD is his medical history. Firstly, I would ask JD if he has had this cough and congestion previously. If the response would be in affirmative, I would ask if he sought treatment and the medication used. Secondly, I would ask about his medical history particularly of previous conditions. Lastly, information on whether JD is a smoker, his vital signs, complete blood count (CBC), edema, as well as shortness of breath on exertion will be essential. The importance of the medical history information would be to underscore the previous conditions, which can be crucial such as heart failure, asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Equally, medical history would assist in JD’s assessment and diagnosis by permitting the modification of the approach to treatment based on his history (Skidmore-Roth, 2015).
