You will be asked to leave all personal belongings other than pencils, pens, erasers, and calculators at the front of the room where you take the exam. The final exam is COMPREHENSIVE and will include material from Prelim 1 and Prelim 2. In this document I outline material covered in class since Prelim 2 that will appear on the final exam. Outline of Topics for Review Gases (Chapter 6) The important variables: T, n, V, and P. Pressure – The mercury barometer demonstrated and derived. Gas laws demonstrated – Boyle’s Law (P ∝ 1/V), Charles’s Law (V ∝ T, Kelvin’s absolute temperature scale, the idea of absolute zero), and Avogadro’s Law (V ∝ n)
