6.3.6 The speaker in "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" and "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" have many things in common. Although their reasons are different, the speakers in "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" and "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" have several preoccupations in common. In both pieces, the narrators have a wandering sense of remembering and reacting to past, present, and imagined events. Granny thinks about real events that were important to her and hazily witnesses present moments, while Prufrock thinks about his current social problems with his bald spot and the quality of his clothes.
