A literature review “is a summary and synopsis of a particular area of research, allowing anybody reading the paper to establish the reason behind a particular research is pursued” (Shuttleworth, n.d.). It is also an important and deeper evaluation of a previous research (Schmidt & brown, 2019). Conducting of a quality review is essential because it gives a comprehensive overview on a topic from past to present and provides a research study a rationale and framework (dissertation or thesis). According to Schmidt & Brown (2019), literature reviews are of utmost importance in nursing research because of increasing emphasis in evidence-based practice (EBP). Essential components of a quality review include: 1. General Statement(s)-explains review done by a researcher 2. Reference to previous research-explains review done previously in that area 3. Gap in research-explains missing work(s) in the previous research

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
