WEEK 4 ASSIGNMENT 2 Qualitative and Quantitative Research Abstract Qualitative research Hospital-acquired pressure ulcers remain on the rise and continue to cost the healthcare industry millions of dollars annually. With this said, it is imperative to prevent the occurrences of hospital-acquired pressure ulcers for the well-being of each patient, reputation of the hospital, and cost-effectiveness. Nurses are the primary players in pressure ulcer prevention in an acute care setting. This qualitative descriptive study was set to find out how nurses understand the advantage and impact of PUPCB intervention in clinical practice to avoid hospital-acquired pressure ulcers. Those who conducted the study hypothesized that nurses would perceive the pressure ulcer prevention care bundle (PUPCB) very beneficial in the prevention of hospital- acquired pressure ulcers.
