The parties involved are the California Superior Court judge who made the order, the Sacramento woman, the woman’s son, and the boy’s father who made the claim that secondhand smoke is harmful to their son’s health. Moral considerations support the judge’s ruling as secondhand smoking can responsible for an array of health complications in adults and is especially true for children. They include respiratory issues, ear infections, and in severe instances asthma attacks. The judge’s ruling would essentially protect the boy’s right to a healthy living environment.As the boy can be considered autonomous, his moral right to life-more specifically; his
