Activity 1 2 What are key words of meaning? Provide examples. (50–75 words) Key words is that the child recognises, understands and comprehends. Keys words of meaning might come in the form of name labels for people or objects that are emotionally important or pleasurably exciting to the child. For example, when the lunch time, a child points and says ‘apple’. Apple is the key word, and the child would like to eat apple. I can answer ‘ would you like some apple slices?’ When they agree, I could say’ ok, I’d like to help you.
