PORTFOLIO 1Food Journal PortfolioJessica M. PalaciosHCI College
Food Journal PortfolioThe following paper will include my personal food journal I completed in week two, along with a diet analysis. It will also include a detailed breakdown of all the nutrients consumedduring those five days of tracking my diet in the form of my food logs. In my final summary, Iwill discuss changes I have made to my diet since that time and any recommendations I shouldfollow to meet my goal of obtaining a level of healthy living through balanced exercise andnutrition.PERSONAL FOOD JOURNAL AND DIET ANALYSISMy diet analysis covers the minimum of five days of my daily intake of all food andliquids. I began tracking my food on Thursday, May 9, 2019, and stopped on Monday, May 13,2019. I will be discussing a detailed review of my eating habits for those days and explain whereI could improve and what I should be eating to meet a healthy diet according to MyFitnessPal.Iput in my weight of 142 lb. Also, the height of 5”4 inches this particular app gave me the optionof choosing my option of either “losing, gaining or maintain” my current weight and from thereshows me how many calories I would need to consume depending on my choices. I am within“normal limits” for my ht/wt and BMI but am on the higher side, which is not my usual andwould like to lose 12 pounds.I generally do not keep track of what I am eating or count calories. Before spring break, Iwas working out 5-6 days a week for an hour at my local Cross Fit gym. I was going by what’scalled a “block diet” and staying away from anything processed, sodas, sweets, and generallyjust eating balanced healthy meals. It has been downhill with my unhealthy sleeping and eatingroutines, and I have not been working out. With that being said, the first thing I realized aboutmy calorie intake is that most days, I consumed too many or too few calories. I also did notexercise at all other than my daily house cleaning, which consisted of picking up after my three
children and husband. My goal weight of 130, losing 2 lbs./week, and working out at least fourdays did not happen at all.I was required to intake at least 1,870 calories per day, according to MyFitnessPal. MyNet Calories Under for those five days were 141 and Net Average 1,766.My eating habits forthat week didn’t change very much. I usually will eat about the same things and was notconsistently eating dinner. My schedule is all over the place at the moment, and I am in classfrom 6-10 on Mon & Tuesday and 6-11 on Wednesday. That particular week and really in general
